Significant impacts from the frost potential are not expected. St. Louis radar: See a map of current weather here Temperatures will return to the low 70s by Wednesday, ahead of our next system. A cold front will bring a chance of a few showers Wednesday night through Thursday. Editor’s note: This is part of The Know’s series, Staff Favorites. Each week, we offer our opinions on the best that Colorado has to offer for dining, shopping, entertainment, outdoor activities and more. (We’ll also let you in on some hidden gems). The flat, concrete lands encircling the National Western Complex just north of downtown Denver can be vexing to navigate, given their twisting, occasionally dead-end routes. But lo and behold, we have smartphone apps to guide us, which makes finding the Forney Museum of Transportation a snap. Housed in an unassuming but sturdy, brightly lit warehouse, it boasts 800 or so immaculate examples of transportation history that bring to life humanity’s technological expansion. As my wide-eyed kids have learned, they range from lovingly restored, turn-of-the-century (19th, that is) buggies, wagons and carriages, to their signature Big Boy 4005 locomotive — seeing the massive machine in person takes your breath away — and early cou...

California bans controversial ‘excited delirium’ diagnosis; is first state to do so

Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 14:17:10 GMT

SACRAMENTO — California is the first state to ban doctors and medical examiners from attributing deaths to the controversial diagnosis known as “excited delirium,” which a human rights activist hailed as a “watershed moment” that could make it harder for police to justify excessive force.Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill Oct. 8 to prohibit coroners, medical examiners, physicians, or physician assistants from listing excited delirium on a person’s death certificate or in an autopsy report. Law enforcement won’t be allowed to use the term to describe a person’s behavior in any incident report, and testimony that refers to excited delirium won’t be allowed in civil court. The law takes effect in January. The term excited delirium has been around for decades but has been used increasingly over the past 15 years to explain how a person experiencing severe agitation can die suddenly through no fault of the police. It was cited as a legal defense in the 2020 deaths of George Floyd ...

He connected with Brandon Aiyuk on only four of 10 targets, but two completions came on that final drive to reach the Browns’ 35-yard line, followed by a 9-yard completion to Jauan Jennings. The Browns’ top-ranked pass defense flustered and pressured Purdy (three sacks, six hits). Trent Williams played the final three quarters with a right ankle injury that bears concern for the next few weeks. George Kittle barely kept alive his streak of a catch in every game of his career with a 1-yard reception on two targets.RUN OFFENSE: DChristian McCaffrey busted loose for a 27-yard run on his first carry, but he managed 16 yards on his next 10 carries combined and left in the third quarter with oblique/rib injuries.
