George Varga | The San Diego Union-TribuneWhat’s the difference between a great cover song and a banal cover song that brings little or nothing to the table? One is like tasting a delicious, unexpectedly creative version of your favorite dish — a new take on a tried-and-true treat that thrills with its skill, vision and ingenuity.
